Overview

CLICY is a joint initiative by Harit by HCL Foundation and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to promote youth-led climate action. The Climate Innovators Challenge for Youth (CLICY) empowers college and university students across Karnataka to design practical and technology-driven solutions to local environmental challenges.

Built around the concept of Ideate – Innovate – Create, the programme encourages students to become active climate innovators through mentorship, collaboration, and experiential learning. Participants receive mentoring support, engage in innovation workshops and expert interactions, undertake exposure visits, and gain access to innovation ecosystems that strengthen their problem-solving and leadership skills.

The initiative provides hands-on learning opportunities in key thematic areas such as Natural Resource Conservation, Waste and Energy, Agriculture and Food Systems, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health and Climate, Urban Development and Housing, and Sustainable Transport.

By fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, systems thinking, and climate leadership, CLICY nurtures young changemakers capable of developing scalable solutions for resilient and sustainable communities, contributing towards a climate-conscious and inclusive future.
