Interactive Activities during the CLICY Bootcamp Launch Event
A three-day bootcamp was organized under Climate Innovators Challenge for Youth (CLICY) from 9–11 March 2026, following its inaugural ceremony. The bootcamp aimed to equip young innovators with the knowledge and skills needed to develop impactful climate solutions and provide mentorship with the domain experts.
The programme brought together 96 students from 16 colleges across Karnataka, creating an engaging and collaborative space for learning and idea exchange. Through interactive sessions, participants explored diverse perspectives on climate action, innovation, and sustainability while strengthening their understanding of complex environmental challenges.
A series of expert-led sessions formed the core of the bootcamp. These covered a wide range of topics, including the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in climate solutions, climate-responsive design, communication for climate action, climate-tech career pathways, and proposal development and pitching techniques. Sessions on socio-emotional learning and climate anxiety and waste characterisation and digital auditing ensured a holistic learning experience, blending technical knowledge with practical and emotional insights.
The bootcamp featured contributions from distinguished experts and practitioners from leading institutions such as NIAS, HCLTech, IIM Bangalore, SELCO Foundation, TERI, and IISc. Participants also benefited from real-world case insights, including innovative waste management systems enabling efficient collection and ESG-focused analytics.
A key highlight of the programme was the mentorship and idea presentation sessions, where student teams presented their climate innovation ideas and received valuable feedback from experts. This process helped refine their proposals and improve the clarity and impact of their solutions.
The bootcamp concluded with a valedictory session, outlining the next steps for the CLICY journey and encouraging participants to continue developing their ideas.
